PH, Hungary prepare for upcoming R&D cooperation

Her Excellency Dr. Titanilla Toth, Hungary Ambassador to the Philippines, and her fellow delegates visited DA-PhilRice today to prepare for the future partnership between the two countries.

The agreement, which is set to be sealed between the DA-PhilRice and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) in November, aims to broaden knowledge on agricultural development through the conduct of joint research initiatives particularly in breeding and educational programs.

In the visit, the delegation was toured in some of the Institute's strategic sites, including the Crop Biotechnology Center, the Palayamanan Farm, the FutureRice Farm, and the Rice Science Museum.

Dr. Toth congratulated the Institute in its initiatives to explore and develop modern technologies such as mobile applications, drones, and climate change-adaptive technologies to enhance rice production, at the same time, champion rice farming through culture and the arts.

Earlier today, they also toured the Philippine Carabao Center and Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization in Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
